The principal charity we support is the St. John Eye Hospital in Jerusalem<\/span><\/h1>\n

St. John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group is the only charitable provider of expert eye care in the Holy Land and has hospitals, clinics and outreach services in the West Bank, Gaza, and Jerusalem. For over 140 years they have been treating patients regardless of ethnicity, religion or the ability to pay.<\/h2>\n

The flagship Hospital in Jerusalem and facilities in Anabta, Hebron, Kufor Aqab and Gaza plus the Mobile Outreach Programme, which travels across the West Bank bringing eye care to isolated communities, ensures the greatest possible reach and impact in the region.<\/p>\n

The main hospital in East Jerusalem has been operating for 141 years. The hospital is the main provider of eye care for Palestinians in East Jerusalem, and sees many of the most complex eye cases from across the oPt, which are referred from medical centres across the West Bank and Gaza. As it is the only charitable provider of eye care, the importance of the hospital for the region cannot be overstated. St John Eye Hospital has a large outpatients department, specialist eye units, operating theatres and 24-hour eye emergency services.<\/p>\n

London Support<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

The London Province has a unique relationship with the St. John Eye Hospital Group,\u00a0 and\u00a0 within the Province, there are many Knights who are interested and enthusiastic about the work of the St. John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital. It is important that the information passed around the Province is correct, current and consistent among the Preceptories, and so we have established a Repository of facts and figures as well as the latest updates from Jerusalem, Charterhouse and other Provinces. The key role of London Support is to “Promote, Educate and Disseminate” information around the Province and to act as support for any charity work undertaken, as well as providing additional information as to the effectiveness of the donations made.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
